Our Caregivers

There is nothing more important than the safety, physical and emotional well being of our seniors. Our caregivers are thoroughly screened, exceptionally trained, licensed, bonded and insured.

Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides perform the duties of caregivers, companions, attendants and sitters. Homemakers are responsible for light housekeeping.

Caregiver Screening

  • Level 2 FDLE Background Check
  • Physical exam including TB test or chest x-ray

Caregiver Training

  • Prior to employment our Certified Nursing Assistants & Home Health Aides must meet our educational and licensing requirements.

  • Participate in in-house, ongoing Cultural Sensitivity Training taught by a post-doctoral university instructor. Topics include sensitivity to Holocaust survivors, geriatric clients, Jewish dietary laws and holiday traditions, etc.

Supervisory Visits

  • A Supervisory RN conducts regular performance evaluations and unscheduled supervisory visits with the client and caregiver.
Caregiver

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Supervisor, JFHC provides Home Health Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants and Homemakers on an hourly (4 hour minimum), daily or weekly basis.

We are available for short-term assignments, long-term assignments, respite care coverage, substitutes and escort services.

A Certified Nursing Assistant is “any person who has been issued a certificate under part II of chapter 464.

A Certified Nursing Assistant is a person who is trained or qualified to provide hands-on personal care, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, assist in ambulation or exercises or assists in administering medications as permitted in rule and for which the person has received training established by the agency under s. 400.497(400.497(1).

A Home Health Aide (HHA) is a person who is trained or qualified to provide hands-on personal care, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, assist in ambulation or exercises or assists in administering medications as permitted in rule and for which the person has received training established by the agency under s. 400.497(400.497(1).

Homemakers perform light housekeeping duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of furniture and floors; cleaning bathroom and kitchens; changing linens and making beds; doing dishes, laundry and removing trash.
