Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund Bahamas

Event Details

When a catastrophic event occurs, like a hurricane, it’s crucial that people unite and help each other. Hurricane Dorian swept the Bahamas islands with 185 mph winds, destroying neighborhoods, buildings, and separating families.

Jewish Family Home Care (JFHC) and Nursing Plus of Broward (NPB), a wholly owned subsidiary of JFHC, are joining the Jewish Federation to help the community in the Bahamas through their Global Disaster Fund.

With widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Dorian, hurricane relief supplies and monetary donations will help the affected families and areas in the Bahamas. Goodman Jewish Family Services of Broward County (JFS) is also taking part in donating funds to the Bahamas Global Disaster Fund with the Jewish Federation.

Jewish Family Home Care follows and practices traditional Jewish ethics and values to provide exceptional senior services to over 400 clients, while also providing peace of mind to their families – across the entire community, regardless of religious affiliation.

Jewish organizations believe in tikkun olam – a Jewish idea defined by acts of kindness to perfect or repair the world. This Jewish concept has taught Jews to repair and heal the world with a helping hand in the community.

In times of need, it’s important we put our problems aside and join together to help those in need. That is why the Jewish Federation, Jewish Family Home Care, and Nursing Plus of Broward County have opened their arms and are prepared to help those who have been affected by the Category 5 Hurricane Dorian.

Join the Global Disaster Relief Fund

Together we are stronger. Let’s come together to help the Bahamian people rebuild the beautiful islands of the Bahamas. Please donate and share the Global Disaster Relief Fund, where 100% of the donations will go directly to the needs of the Bahamian people and aid them in rebuilding their homes, schools, and other infrastructure – http://bit.ly/GlobalDisasterReliefFund

For more information, here is a list of all the items the Bahamian community needs during this tragic time.
